Amid the spread of the deadly coronavirus worldwide, most people have found themselves working from home in order to stick with the imposed safety protocols. However, working remotely has gained immense popularity within the last few months showing great results within companies who have been able to adapt to the work from home lifestyle. Its results have only portrayed that working from home is not just a temporarily measure taken to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. It has in fact raised issues regarding whether commuting to an office, was ever effective.
Many well-known organizations have already declared their plan to remain working remotely post COVID-19 one of which includes Twitter-the microblogging and social networking service, announced that given its emphasis on decentralization and its support for a distributed workforce capable of working from anywhere, it will be allowing its employees who are in a role and situation that enables them to work from home, can continue to do so permanently. Those who wish to resume their office attendance, twitter will also keep that option open.
Twitter is only one example. Other big corporations such as Facebook and Google have extended their work from home policy until the end of the year.
